In short, car stalled, showed up to class late, no partner, cash register breaks during lunch, and I constantly fell behind in my work. *sigh*
I was SUPER excited to go to school today. I got a good night's sleep, woke up bright and early, and was ready to leave at 7:30...but THEN.....
my car wouldn't start :o(
After freaking out, I finally got around to jump starting the car. YUP, you heard me, I, me, myself , and I jumped started the car by myself; it was years of training from when I used to drive a purple mini-van and it kept stalling on me. *giggles*
Anyways, I raced all the way to school...only 20 minutes late BABY!!! :o)
(that's not bad considering it's usually a 45 minute drive)
Well, I guess there are only 23 people in the class, so one person doesn't have a partner.....YUP, you guessed it...yours truly...ME!!! :o)
At first I was bummed, but now I don't think it's so bad because I need to focus all my concentration.
When I went to lunch at this hot dog joint next door, their cash register broke as soon as I got in. So instead of a 50 minute lunch break, I had to inhale my italian beef in 30 minutes. But boy oh boy was it yummy! *smacks lip*
I felt like I never got situated or comfortable in class. My brain felt like gum paste being pulled in all sorts of directions. I didn't do a hot job of keeping up with the class, but I managed to still get everything done. YAY ME! :o)
Tomorrow I'll post a picture of Nicholas Lodge. Today I was just trying to not cause anymore trouble (after barging in so late).
We use this sizing guide to roll out our gum paste. It's pretty cool...I like anything that makes my life easier. Actually, he showed us a lot of cool "toys"....hmmm....I think I'm going shopping this week *cheeky grin*
Here's the calla lily center we made. Today we worked on making a lot of the buds or centers for flowers so they have time to dry.
My attempt at a carnation. :o)
These pictures (above and below) are Nicholas Lodge's work. He gave us photos of his work to use as reference....*laughs*...for people like me who don't have a green thumb and haven't seen most of these flowers before. Hint Hint...feel free to send me flowers. :o)
Well, tomorrow is a new day....things could only look brighter now :o)
