*exhales* It's been a busy two days as we prepare our cakes for graduation.
The saddest part of this whole story is the fact that I've moved back into Extended Stay but the ONE thing I forgot to pack was my camera. WAAAHH! I'm paralyzed without my camera (so I apologize for the lack of pictures). Like having to eat everyday, I MUST have my camera with me at all times!!! I did however find an old school camera in my shoe bag so I'm using that for now, but it doesn't take good pics at all. *frowns*
Anyways, we've been chalking, air brushing, and taping our flowers.
That's my peony on the top right. Ooo la la!! I was super excited to see that it turned out pretty :o)
In the past week, we've made tons of flowers. I didn't get a chance to blog last night because I had a date with gum paste. I had this idea of putting hydrangeas (that I made last night) all over my cake....but today, we were told that we didn't have to use any of them on our cake....WHAT?!?!?!? What do you mean we don't have to use any of them? What else am I going to decorate my cake with? *panics*

We learned brush embroidery, which is piping a figure with icing then pulling the icing in with a brush (see flower drawings above).
Today we learned to do different designs with fondant on our cakes. We could make bows, do embossing, quilting, border crimping, and draping.
*screams* WHAT AM I TO DO?!?!?!? So many ideas, so many decisions, so many color choices, but so little time. It was 10am and I only had 10hrs to come up with a design for a three tiered cake. I wanted to do it all!!!

However, I had to be realistic with myself and seeing as this would be my first time utilizing these new techniques, I had to keep my design simple, realistic, and attainable. Want to see what I came up with?....
Well, you're going to have to check back tomorrow when it's completed. *laughs*
I never knew how hard it would be to cover a cake with fondant. I've covered small cakes before, but my 12" took some major muscle power. Ooooh YEAH!!!...I got my strength training in for today (and then crashed after school for about 2 hours).
I still have lots to work on but we are expected to have our cakes done by... *gasps* 2PM!!!... so we could have our graduation! Woo Hoo! It's Friday already!!! Stay tuned to see if Savitre finishes her cake on time for graduation! Dum dum dummmm.
